RE: The Prostitution of the Intelligence Community
It sounds like this guy was out of the loop on a lot of stuff.

One of Southern California's largest builders, then a CIA consultant, beat a colonel to death with this bare hands, for sport, instead of merely killing him, when the colonel showed up at a jungle camp involved in the logistics and tactics of bombing raids on Cambodia, in 1965. You may recall that the U.S. officially denied any sort of Cambodian bombing campaign (IIRC, during Nixon's tenure).

It doesn't sound like this guy got any piece of the heroin action, either. Tricky Dick really screwed that up, though, with the burning of the Golden Crescent - He pissed off a lot of people when he did that.

But as I now understand it, poppy is now doing well in Afghanistan, and sort of sanctioned after a fashion, in exchange for its warlords'/cultivators' "help" in the "war on terror."

The CIA and heroin have always been a good mix.

It wasn't a "Tell-All". He's not so much Blowing the whistle on CIA activities
as he is tying it in with the government involvement with his beloved agency
which ultimately lead to what he considers it's downfall.
(Most of the best and most loyal agents resigning or being edged-out by
"The NEW CIA" who's become more loyal to the Whitehouse than they are to
the Country and to what he considers their sacred oath to protect and defend
the American people 'against all enemies, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC'. Indeed
They (like the NEW Justice Dept) have become mere Lackeys of Whitehouse.

This is the first time I'd encounters Mr McGovern (which is also when I first
become aware of the two (annoying ?) individuals to his right... that JUST
REFUSED TO SHUT-UP AND GO AWAY... Cindy Sheehan, AND AMBASSADOR
Joe Wilson. Wink (anyone in MM can tell you that I was the annoying "bitch" that
refused to shut up about "The DOWNING-STREET MEMOS" (& the mysterious
Death of Dr. David Kelly) from the day they first came to light because I
recognized their significance in the broader picture of Bush's 'WAR on TERRA'

This is but a fragment of the Hearing which the WH tried to stop, but finally
allowed in a tiny clock-room in the basement of the Capital Building, that
was scheduled concurrently with a number of key votes, causing the attending
House & Members of the Senate to squeeze in & out of the cramped room
(which of course spilled out into the crowded corridor) BUT THE HEARING
PROCEEDED In Spite of Everything... and ultimately lead to the UnCovering
of THE Cover-up... which has now become the Basis for the long overdue
Impending IMPEACHMENT Hearings (LOL Where will they allow THAT???
In the BOILER ROOM... or the 5th Floor "john"? LOL ...we shall see...)

ANYWAY, ...and without further ado...

Ray McGovern @ the Downing Street Memo Hearing(6/16/05)

Stay Tuned for Part 3:
How all this is LEADING UP TO THE WAR AGAINST IRAN Wink

Dint know about the CIA consultant, or the colonel...
...but yes, I'm old enough to remember the non-existent Wink Wink
crossing into & bombing of Cambodia as well as the Iran/Contra
Cocaine BullShit and the covert weapons tested on the Panamanians.
