He also calls LEGO “a language all its own,” one you’ll become highly fluent in after spending time in this massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Not only will you complete missions and earn lots of cool loot, but you’ll also have the chance to make a major impact on the game with a personal piece of property where you can build awesome creations to your heart’s content.
“We always come back to the assassin’s creed: nothing is true, everything is permitted,” development team member Jean-Francois Boivin tells us. Dig deep into a centuries-old conflict between assassins and Templars in Assassin’s Creed II. Desmond Miles again revisits an ancestor’s memories to learn an assassin’s ways and seek out the artifacts known as Pieces of Eden. This time, that ancestor is a man named Ezio in fifteenth century Renaissance Italy. Travel with us and learn what it means to be a blade in the crowd.
Return to the Pacific theater of World War II in Battlestations: Pacific, which features a pair of 14-mission action/strategy campaigns: lead the Allies beyond 1942’s Battle of Midway and through the climactic Battle of Okinawa in 1945, or ask “What if?” and control the Japanese navy as it scores several key victories and returns to Hawaii for a final confrontation. Five multiplayer modes let you take your strategic thinking online for fast-paced combat with up to seven other gamers.
Supreme Commander 2 boasts numerous game enhancements, in-depth Campaign Mode, multiplayer online and a unique storyline that represents a new dimension in real-time strategy gaming.
You may have noticed a shiny new name floating around our bylines today, true believers, and no, you are not suffering from amnesia nor are you the subject of a cruel life/reality simulation program. That name you see, "Mike Suszek," belongs to none other than our brand new, pine-fresh Weekend Editor, Mike Suszek.
This means that you'll be seeing a lot less of Jess Conditt and myself during the next couple of weekends as Mike settles into his new position, with the eventual goal being for Mike to take over the weekends entirely before too long.
Yes, that includes the Weekly Webcomic Wrapup, but we've still got at least one more weekend together, my darling readers. Come, let us cherish our remaining time together by reading these webcomics from last week, and voting for our favorites after the break.

It seems that GameStop plans on offering AT&T data plans for mobile devices under a service called GameStop Mobile, according to information posted on their website. The information has since been pulled, but not before our friends at Engadget reported on it.So, as long as GameStop Mobile continues to not be a reality, we will continue reporting the information we've yet to learn about the service. Hypothetically-speaking, GameStop Mobile would require AT&T-compatible or unlocked devices. The service would probably include pay-as-you-go five dollar plans and $55 monthly plans, which would include unlimited voice and text and 500MB of data, or 1GB of data for data-only device users.
The someday-news of GameStop Mobile would make more sense out of the company's recent addition of Android devices to their trade-in lists.

The folks over at Gearbox Software have been busy with a lot more than designing fancy collector's editions, according to Borderlands 2 producer Matt Charles. Answering fan-submitted twitter questions on the PlayStation Blog, Charles addressed several technical problems suffered by Borderlands - by and large, the news is positive.
Voice chat issues that plagued the first game, for instance, are currently being worked on and the system "will be working for everyone when the game launches." Charles also said that while it's "too early for me to give any final numbers," Borderland 2's framerate will "see an improvement over the first game."
He also mentioned the upgraded user interfaces we've talked about before, and that players will now automatically pick up ammo and currency dropped by felled villains: "There's a lot more useful data for gear comparison and also more descriptive text on the item cards as well. Having said that, the best way to know what a gun does is to use it."

MechWarrior Tactics, the upcoming turn-based strategy game by Acronym Games and Roadhouse Interactive set in the BattleTech universe is entering a "friends and family" closed beta program on May 22.
Those that register on the game's forums will receive a beta key "sometime after" May 22, according to an official post on said forums. As of now, it has yet to be determined if you are expected to play the game with friends and family, or ignore them.
[Thanks, Joe!]

Time magazine's ridiculous breast-feeding cover was all the talk last week. On Mother's Day, Kotaku's legion of photoshoppers smoothed the last shovelful of dirt on this ridiculously desperate concept. We have 20 smart 'shoppers inside, plus overall winner DarkStar! More »
The fine football satirists at Every Day Should Be Saturday caught on to something that eluded me during NFL Blitz's launch back in January. Not only are late hits stripped out of the game, the playbook has been toned down considerably. More »
Though we seem to be through the worst of Diablo III's humiliating server outages at launch this week, who knows when those things will need to be worked on again. Logging in to Battle.net and waiting for the credential verification to time out is a long and stupid way of being told you can't play the game. More »
